Sly the Family Stone: The Collection contains the seven albums the group released on Epic Records between 1968 and 1974 (which were recorded between 1967 and 1971). Sony BMG has simply packaged these discs A Whole New Thing, Dance to the Music, Life, Stand, There’s a Riot Goin’ On, Fresh, and Small Talk all of which have been completely remastered and contain bonus material and liner essays, all in a slipcase box. They’ve all been released separately in digipack, so there isn’t anything additional to be had. The price point isn’t really different either, and given the wildly varying quality of some of these sides, buying the box is for a very specific kind of fan or collector.

A pet that you don’t have to buy crickets for, rarely clean the cage/tank, and can take out and hold once in a while? I love reptiles, but it seems the only ones that don’t eat crickets are turtles, but they seem hard to take care of. I mean a pet like a rat, but that the cage can be cleaned less often.
there is no pet that you could have all animals need attention and regular cleaning out including fish,if you dont want to make the effort with a pet dont get one please
I am very familiar with birds but not very experienced with dogs. As a child, I had 3 dogs (mixed species) who were really good around our birds. However, as an adult, I have never had a dog around my birds. I’d like to get a dog someday and prefer bigger dogs than little dogs. If anyone can help answer this question, I would truly appreciate it. Thanks!
It really depends on the dog, not the breed. But as someone said earlier, get a young dog, so it can grow up getting used to being around them. Or get one that is already used to birds. No matter what you get, you will have to keep a close eye on them at all times for a while, til they are used to each other. German shepherds are really smart, obedient, and easily trained. I have a german shepherd, and 10 birds, they all get along great. My birds have the run of the house during the day, and I often find them curled up on the floor with my dog asleep together. I am very fortunate in this way. Whatever you choose to get though, just be careful. And introduce them slowly.
Does anybody have any recommendations on the best way to clean carpets that have been affected by cats? My fiancee is allergic to cats and we are buying a home from a cat owner. We want to have the place professionally cleaned but don’t know the best cleaning service to get for this matter. Any recommendations?
If the carpet smells and may have a flea infestation…. Get a BIG bag of baking soda and a big box of iodized salt from the wholesale store… Cost about $5 for a 12 lb. bag of soda and $2 for the salt… Mix in a gal. ZIPLOC bag and sprinkle liberally over the carpets…Leave overnight or acouple of days…
The BS deodorized the carpet and the salt pulls up dirt/debris so the carpet will be brighter…
If you have a bagless vacuum you may have to clean or replace your paper filter after this procedure…. If you have a bag vacuum be sure to have extra bags!
The BS/SALT will also smother fleas, larve and dissolve the eggs of the flea if there are any……
You can rent a steam cleaner for about $25 a day at most food/drug stores… A RUG DOCTOR is very good and easy to use… OR you can spend around $200 or MORE for a professional company like STANLEY STEAMER to come and clean the whole house… I would inquire with your new neighbors and see who they suggest.. OR if there are coupons in the community circular.
You may also want to think about having a cleaning service (MOLLY MAID) come in and deep clean EVERYTHING like the walls, trim, baseboards etc… OR you could spend the day a bucket of water some some mild cleaner to do it yourself.. I highly recommend getting a wet/dry shopvac- they are super handy for DEEP CLEANING I use mine about 2-3x a week.. It has all the attachments and cost about $100! GREAT for spot removal on carpets/furniture.
*If he’s severly allergic you may want to seek someone that does duct and ac cleaning to get dust/debris and hair out of the heating cooling duct and replace your AC/Furnace filter once a month….
Good luck
The person is out numbered 2 vs 1 and yet they still manage to downplay the idea of getting a dog. We all haven’t talked seriously about the idea but I’d like to be prepared when the time comes to present our case.
We have a very large yard (I’m guessing ½ and acre or more) and plenty of time between the 3 of us. There are many dogs in the neighborhood as well to provide socialization…
Besides mentioning these resources, what can we use to get this person over to our side? >:)
Thanks People.
I am assuming you are a kid or a teenager. If this person that you say is not an animal lover will end up be the primary care-taker of the dog, then you are probably out of luck. However, if you can convince the non-animal lover that they don’t have to put any time or effort into the dog, then maybe you have a chance.
