   I think it’s more of a learned thing- if your parents love animals then you probably grew up with animals and weren’t scared of them. People are genetically programmed to like animals. Most people who don’t like animals don’t like them because they had a bad experience when they were younger. If you grew up with animals around the house, you probably got used to being around them and weren’t scared.

   I beleive it’s all about you and your heart. I have always loved animals, my husband on the other hand, had to be taught. After almost 20 years, he loves em as much as I. My son on the other hand could care less. I have taken in strays and found them homes. We have had anything from pot belly pigs to turtles.

   My mom always loved animals, and so do I but my 2 sisters only like their dog and cat, and my dad is starting to love them as he was raised with dogs and creek critters. So some people have to Llearn" to love animals while others already have that in their haert (like me!). So in some ways yes and in some ways no-it all depends!
